A 50's Rendition of the Deviled Egg!

As some of you know my Grandmother, Fifi, had marvelous recipes.  Even though she didn't cook for the family, she would meet with the cooks and plan their menus for the week.  This one was from one of her dear friends in La Porte, Indiana, Mrs. Sievers. Can't you just picture them sitting around with their Scotch on the Rocks and long cigarette holders discussing old family recipes.  Well get ready because when I say it is a Fifi recipe, trust me it will be flawless.  She was the Grand Dame in her day and the most amazing entertainer.

Everyone has their way of hard boiling eggs.  I put a dozen room temperature eggs in a pot with cold water. Bring to a rigorous boil.  Put the top on the pot, turn the heat off and let sit for 18 minutes.  Why 18, I have no clue, probably just stuck with me from my mother Peggy, another amazing cook.

These Deviled Eggs can be made in advance and refrigerated.  Top with a caper, dill, or a pimento.

By the way, I didn't use accent.

Eggs go really fast so be sure you make plenty.  They will be a real crowd pleaser!!!

Thank you Mrs. Sievers!!

So Kim,
These ARE delicious :) and I am so glad you have revealed the recipe! Thank you! Before I try this I wondered if you could explain what accent is, even though you don't put it in..i wont either but I 'm curious. Also,... did your grandmother really put tobacco in them? And if you do this what kind of tobacco? So crazy ! I have never seen this before....
